Voting is open in the Birstall Express and Cleckheaton stores throughout September and October. Customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop. If you don’t receive one, please ask for one and place it in the Drighlington Community Library slot.
Unfortunately, the planning for the 208 houses on Pity Close farm was today passed, we tried our best to object the application but it came down to a 4 against and 4 for, the chairladies vote swayed to ‘Aye’.
This is not the last stand, we are in discussions with certain parties about objecting to the application, further details to follow.
It was sickening as two of the ‘ayes’ were from LCC councillors that don’t live anywhere near the village.
We live to fight another day!
